Why do I need to get a Survey?

Surveys are important to make sure you are given a full overview of any issues with your property. It could potentially save you thousands of pounds and makes financial sense, as this is probably your biggest financial asset. Surveys aren’t something you should cut corners on – they are recommended by the Consumers Association and the Council of Mortgage Lenders.

I already have a mortgage valuation, do I need a survey?

Although you will have a Mortgage Valuation, this is only based on making sure any issues that may affect the security of the loan are inspected and is very limited. They will not look at the property in detail and will not make you aware of potentially hazardous or expensive issues.
