Something for the weekend

Kitchens and Bathrooms sell or let houses … This has always been the phrase that pays within the property industry. Over the years we have found many landlords and sellers frustrated about feedback from agents about things they really can’t do anything about. like it fronts onto a main road…. Or, I would prefer a detached to a semi. The option to pick a house up and move it to a different location is not a reality, but here are five top tips that you can do to enhance the value of your home during lockdown without huge costs from tradespeople:-

The Front

First impressions make a huge difference!

The colour of your front door can make all the difference then add a well looked after front lawn with some pots and maybe some fake plants and you could really enhance that first impression.

Gardens

Tidy with space to grow!

Losing excess bushes and shrubs can really show more space and jet washing patios and repointing is actually easier than you think. One of our clients mentioned repointing there patio was a little like sweeping dust into little nooks. Use bark and woodchips on weeded areas. Paint your fence, grey is no longer boring but regarded as exciting. Use slate grey for garden fences add white pots with plants and you are injecting a contemporary  look and feel to your garden

Kitchens

Upcycle your kitchen!

Refitting a kitchen can be very expensive, you can do the minimum and still make a difference. Look at grouting floor tiles, changing cupboard doors or even just door handles and add a fresh lick of paint. This can be a very cost-effective way and of course, give a much-needed facelift.

Tidy Up

Declutter your home!

Hire a skip and get busy, skip hire cost around £200 and this gives you a weekend of being able to chuck out bulky items all at once that have been hanging around because you just don’t have the time to take to the dump. Less is more and being able to show more space makes a real difference.

Paint

With a difference!

Light colours on walls is so important in dark areas, such as hallways and landings. Add a bit of colour to the other rooms too, the new trend is skirting’s and doors being painted a grey colour or dark blue and this really does bring a room to life.
