First, choose an agency to value and market your home. Your agent will handle offers, market and negotiate to get the best price. After accepting an offer, a solicitor manages the legal work from exchange to completion. It takes around 4 to 6 months to complete. This depends on the chain, your buyer's position, and the solicitor's processes. You’ll receive dedicated transaction support to speed things along.
A property conveyancer (specialist solicitor) handles the legal work. They prepare contracts, manage enquiries from your buyer's solicitors and transfer funds. Yes, but you'll need to let your lender know. Some mortgages can be transferred to a new property at the same rate. Paying it early could lead to early repayment charges.
