This mental health awareness week, we wanted to do something special to spread cheer across our workplace and the local community, all the while raising money for our chosen charity, Mind. We therefore decided to do a ‘colourful day’ to raise awareness for mental health.
On Friday 13th March, employees across the business donned their most colourful, crazy clothes at home and in the office. We had Hawaiian shirts, rainbow glasses, football kits, legwarmers, and one agent even came in dressed as peas in a pod - definitely a little different to our usual suited and booted! Employees each made a donation of their choosing via our Just Giving page – if you’d like to join our fundraising efforts and make a donation of your own, click here.
Thanks to our whacky and wonderful clothing, we are immensely proud to say that we raised over £1,360 for the inspiring charity. This will fund almost two weeks’ worth of incredible work by Mind’s Infoline and Legal line advisors who provide life-changing help and advice to thousands of people in need every day.
But it wasn’t all about the money - with the theme of Mental Health Awareness week being loneliness, we also saw ‘colour day’ as an opportunity to get our homeworking staff together to have a laugh and a catch up in their silly clothes in office or over teams. We know how easy it is to fall prey to loneliness when working from home, so we take every opportunity to get our teams together throughout the year to ensure all our staff are getting that human connection.
Last month, we held Easter egg hunts, tombolas, and staff bingo to raise money for this incredible cause and bring the staff and community together. These activities raised a total of £400 for Mind. Find out more about our April fundraising activities here.
Our total raised for the charity this year is now at £1,760 – and we certainly won’t be stopping there! Keep your eyes peeled for more fundraisers in your local community as we continue our fight for mental wellbeing for all.
