The Link Foundation Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

...

Having supported the charity for many years, we are delighted to hear that the Link Foundation has received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary services, which is the highest award a charity can receive in the UK. The Maidenhead-based charity is on a mission to improve the lives of children and their families in the local community, and with their committed team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to get vital donations to families in need, it is no surprise that they have received the recognition they deserve.

Alongside this award, the charity has also received special COVID-19 designation for their outstanding work during the pandemic. Over lockdown, Link Foundation volunteers visited the homes of vulnerable families every day with food, toiletries, clothes and other essentials, making a huge difference in such an unprecedented time.

Last year, the Link Foundation helped 1001 children with charitable donations; provided 236 beds, cots and mattresses to families in need; supplied 13,928 meals to families disadvantaged by the pandemic; and gave away 56 laptops and school equipment for children learning from home.

We are immensely proud to have contributed to these numbers with our Christmas donation to the charity, which provided 30 more Christmas dinners to families in need.

It was a pleasure to hear from the charity recently with this fantastic news and thanking us for our support: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Prospect for the support you gave to the Link Foundation last year with our Christmas Lunch appeal, it really did make a huge difference to the families we support.  The Link Foundation continues to support hundreds of vulnerable families at this difficult time.”

Congratulations to the Link foundation for winning such an esteemed award that is so well deserved. Thank you for all your hard work in the local community and for championing a cause that is so close to our hearts.
