We often get asked the question; “what is it like to live in the local area?” With most of our agents living locally, we’re able to tell you about our favourite places and give you a true insight on living and working in the area.
This week, we sat down with our Area Manager, Roberto, to have a chat about Wokingham...
Why did you originally want to buy your home in Wokingham?
My fiancé and I were looking for an area that was close to our family, had good local schooling and was regarded as a nice place to live by its community. Wokingham ticked all of these boxes and has given us so much more as an area. This will be our fourth year in Wokingham and we couldn’t be happier.
What are the benefits of living and working in Wokingham?
I think a huge benefit is being able to give our customers an honest and real life insight to the area, people and community of Wokingham. We can always find out a lot about an area from searching online and I love the fact we have so much information at our fingertips, however I feel that the confidence of speaking to someone actually living in a certain location is priceless.
What is the Wokingham property market like right now?
The residential sales market in Wokingham is in a good place in my opinion. We all know that values are down from its peak in 2016, however prices had been rising for eight years consistently, so homeowners shouldn’t be downbeat. In the grand scheme of things values are still good and personally I think it’s a great time to buy. The quality of buyers that we’re dealing with is excellent and I think proof of this is us recently having our best month of sales for nine months!
Is there anything new or exciting you are looking forward to in Wokingham?
If I’m honest it has to be the opening of a gin bar called The Leafy Elephant that will be in Peach Place, part of the regeneration of Wokingham. I am a fan of the gin revelation that we have had over recent years and even made it to a gin festival last summer. I believe that there will be over 200 gins available and the bar will have a botanical garden theme. I’m sure the bar will be a popular spot so I hope visit it within the first few weeks of opening.
