The local housing market in Bracknell

Our market update in August

There is normally a seasonal slowdown in housing market activity over the summer months, as both buyers and sellers turn their attention to summer holidays. But this year, home movers have put more property on the market and have agreed more sales than in any month for over ten years according to Rightmove’s August House Price Index.

The post-lockdown surge of activity is still accelerating and is believed to continue to do so in the run up to the 31st March stamp duty holiday deadline.

We’ve had an amazing August too here at Prospect Bracknell, with over 248 new buyers registering with us last month for homes in the local area and conducted over 430 viewings, resulting in 23 sales.

Thanks to the excellent facilities, transport links and schools, Bracknell has always been a desirable location for movers. In the past couple of months, we’ve found that a lot more buyers relocating from London are now moving to the area as well.

Great news for sellers and means that buyers must act fast when they find a home they love, as it won’t be around for long!

Why Bracknell is a great place to live!

The pleasant town of Bracknell is located approximately 11 miles south-east of Reading and has been voted one of the top 20 places to live in Great Britain. Bracknell is also in close vicinity to Ascot, Crowthorne, Camberley, Maidenhead and Windsor, allowing easy access to a plethora of excellent facilities.

Bracknell town centre has recently undergone a £240 million-pound redevelopment programme to create a new modern town centre which is so impressive it won 'Development of the Year' at the Revo Awards in 2017. Regenerating the town has provided people living in and around the area with over 70 new shops and restaurants in the new shopping centre, The Lexicon. The redevelopment has also provided 1,000 new homes, a new police station and bus station. A large part of the development was focused on improving the current High Street buildings and the restoration and extension of a local landmark – The Bull public house. Since undergoing development, Bracknell has risen in the retail rankings to number 33, from 255 prior to redevelopment.
