We are part of the Propertymark Client Money Protection scheme. The scheme reimburses landlords, tenants and other clients should an agent misappropriate their rent, deposit or other client funds.
How does the CMP scheme help you?
PROPERTYMARK CONDUCT AND MEMBERSHIP RULES
- CMP protects landlords’ and tenants’ money. Should a Propertymark Protected agent go bust or misuse your rent, deposit or other funds, Propertymark will reimburse you.
- From 1 April 2019 property agents in the private rented sector holding client money are legally required to belong to a Client Money Protection scheme.
- You do not have to prove fraud You only need to provide supporting evidence that you have not received the money you were legally entitled to. You will need to provide the tenancy agreement or deposit protection certificate along with bank statements.
