The local housing market in Reading

Our market update in August

August is traditionally one of the quieter months in the property sector, largely due to people hopping on a plane to enjoy a well-deserved summer holiday. Obviously with COVID-19, this has put a halt to this, and people seem to have turned their attention to spending their hard earnt money on buying a property.

My last two update’s details how busy we had been since restrictions on lockdown had been lifted and August has been no different. We’ve registered a record number of buyers and agreed sales on a record breaking 35 properties….. one of which was the most expensive property to have ever sold in the RG30 postcode area!

Reading has always been an area whereby investment buyers see as a great place to build their portfolios and 20 of the 35 sales we agreed during August were sold to investment buyers.

It’s no surprise people are flocking to invest in Reading after it was ranked 13th out of 116 in “Business Magazines” top non-capital cities to live and invest in! San Francisco, Montreal and Houston made the top 3 - just in case you were curious.

The market is a buoyant as I’ve ever experienced and as we move into another busy month, if you’re looking to buy or sell, there has never been a better time to so.
