The local housing market in Sandhurst

Our market update in August

There is normally a seasonal slowdown in housing market activity over the summer months, as both buyers and sellers turn their attention to summer holidays. But this year, home movers have put more property on the market and have agreed more sales than in any month for over ten years according to Rightmove’s August House Price Index.

The post-lockdown surge of activity is still accelerating and is believed to continue to do so in the run up to the 31st March stamp duty holiday deadline.

Here at Prospect of Sandhurst, we had over 150 new buyers registering with us last month for homes in the local area and conducted over 196 viewings, resulting in 18 sales.

Thanks to the excellent schools and transport links, Sandhurst has always been a desirable location for movers. In the past couple of months, we’ve found that a lot more buyers relocating from London are now moving to the area as well. This is creating quite high buyer competition in the market for family homes, meaning that homes are selling faster and for better prices.
