The local housing market in Maidenhead

Our market update in September

Traditionally September is a busy month in the lettings market and following in the same vein as July and August, this year September has been busier than ever!

Tenant demand is still strong since the post lockdown rush, with us registering a record number of applicants last month. Although the weather is turning, outside space is still a popular request from Tenants. After being couped up inside for most of the Summer, having access to a garden (shared or private) or a balcony is a huge attraction to tenants.

With more and more of us having to work from home, having somewhere to set up a home office is also a popular request right now. Because of the tenant demand for these two things, properties with an area to work from and outside space are letting the quickest.

Properties that allow pets are also still extremely popular and Landlord’s who accept them are also able to add a small premium to the monthly rent.

As we now approach the final quarter of the year, we will find that there will be a mad rush to secure a property before the end of the year – proving to be a great time to have a property available on the market, contrary to people thinking it gets quieter in the winter months.
