In affluent areas like Wokingham, it is often easy to forget that people who are vulnerable and in need of help live there too.
Luckily, local resident Sue Jackson founded Wokingham in Need (WIN) four years ago to help anyone and everyone in need in the Wokingham area.
Young or old, suffering mentally or struggling financially, no group is excluded from WIN’s support. Prospect are humbled to be involved with WIN’s wide-ranging projects, from building a sensory garden for adults with learning disabilities at the Acorn Centre in Woosehill, equipping the Salvation Army on Surges Road with new facilities, creating a homeless drop-in centre, and with much more on the horizon!
We look forward to continuing our collaboration in pursuit of our mutual aim to provide assistance to those in need and build a thriving local community. But don’t let it stop with us – you can help support this exceptional local charity too:
Prospect was proud to contribute towards Wokingham in Need’s jazz event at the Whitty Theatre, where local businesses, volunteers and jazz-lovers united to raise £3000 for local projects supporting the homeless and vulnerable.
