Our work with Wokingham in Need

In affluent areas like Wokingham, it is often easy to forget that people who are vulnerable and in need of help live there too.

Luckily, local resident Sue Jackson founded Wokingham in Need (WIN) four years ago to help anyone and everyone in need in the Wokingham area.

Young or old, suffering mentally or struggling financially, no group is excluded from WIN’s support. Prospect are humbled to be involved with WIN’s wide-ranging projects, from building a sensory garden for adults with learning disabilities at the Acorn Centre in Woosehill, equipping the Salvation Army on Surges Road with new facilities, creating a homeless drop-in centre, and with much more on the horizon!

We look forward to continuing our collaboration in pursuit of our mutual aim to provide assistance to those in need and build a thriving local community. But don’t let it stop with us – you can help support this exceptional local charity too:

  • Donations - Donations can be made via WIN’s Facebook page – just look for the big blue “Donate” button at the top (don’t forget to press “yes” for gift aid!) or, if you’re in town, pop into the Prospect Estate Agents in Wokingham on Broad Street and leave your donation with them. WIN now has a credit card facility so it couldn’t be easier!
  • Events - Keep up to date with all the fantastic events WIN are hosting on their website (wokinghaminneed.co.uk) or their Facebook page.
  • Volunteer - If you’d like to lend a helping hand at an event, email wokinghaminneed@gmail.com to discuss how you can help.

Wokingham in Need Jazz Event

Prospect was proud to contribute towards Wokingham in Need’s jazz event at the Whitty Theatre, where local businesses, volunteers and jazz-lovers united to raise £3000 for local projects supporting the homeless and vulnerable.
