About Aldershot, Hampshire
and the local area

Known as the “home of the British army”, this town in the Rushmoor district of Hampshire has been one of the most important military towns in the UK since 1854. The lasting legacy of Aldershot’s military roots means that a great deal of the town’s parks, flora and fauna has been preserved over the years, making this the perfect town for those who love the great outdoors.
Besides its fascinating history, Aldershot is widely regarded as an excellent place to live, not least for its close proximity to the M3, M4, A3 and M25 which gives the town its great connections to London, Southcoast and rest of the country.
From local amenities to excellent transport links, it is clear to see why Aldershot is such a popular place to live. It is indeed good enough for a number of notable figures, such as Martin Freeman and Ian McEwan who both hail from the area – not to mention the fact that the Beatles allegedly performed here before they became famous!
